Four are out. And five are in.
With Fox announcing this week that a quartet of stars will be dropped from series regular status on Glee Season 5, the network has now confirmed that five familiar faces will take over their prominent roles.
The Hollywood Reporter states that Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty), Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Alex Newell (Unique) have all received promotions. They will be main players on Glee when the series returns on September 19 with new episodes.
Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) were unsurprisingly demoted a couple days ago, but all will likely show up again in some capacity.
The status of Dianna Agron (Quinn) and Jayma Mays (Emma) are less well known, however, especially with the latter signing on to star opposite Will Arnett in The Millers. »
