"Castle" star Stana Katic is going punk rock in the forthcoming drama "Cbgb," based on the real-life legendary rock club in New York City. Katic plays Genya Ravan, lead singer of 1960s girl group, Goldie & the Gingerbreads in the film, opening Oct. 2013.

Katic spoke to Zap2it on the red carpet at the world premiere of "The Lone Ranger" at Disney California Adventure. "My character ... is a rock producer, and an amazing singer as well," says Katic. "[The film] covers the story of Cbgb from the late 70s to early 80s, and there's a phenomenal cast. We have The Ramones featured, Iggy Pop, Blondie, a lot of really great rock bands."

Katic joins an all-star ensemble that features Malin Ackerman as Blondie front woman Debbie Harry, Ashley Greene as Cbgbg owner Hilly Kristal's daughter, Johnny Galecki as openly gay record producer Terry Ork and Rupert Grint as rock guitarist Cheetah Chrome. »
