With the stellar success of this past weekend's Spring Awakening Music Festival, the city of Chicago has gained some serious Edm cred. The three day event, organized by React Presents, reportedly drew crowds in excess of 30,000 each day, making it the largest dance festival in the Midwest. It follows the Electric Daisy Festival (North America's single largest dance music festival and event) which was held last month at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Il. This weekend's Spring Awakening generated it's own charge of electricity, however, with all-star headliners like Calvin Harris, Bassnectar, Moby and Chi-town's own Krewella entertaining the masses on "da Main Stage" in Soldier Field. Three additional stages were also added outside the venue to accommodate the talent run- off. Other artists on the weekend bill included Nero, Nicky Romero, Bingo Players, Wolfgang Gartner, Dirty South, Zedd, and Carnage - who emerged as one of the crowd's favorites. »
