Matthew Rhys, the star of FX's series "The Americans," has been cast as Mr. Darcy in a BBC production of "Death Comes to Pemberley." The mini-series will help to mark the 200th anniversary of the "Pride and Prejudice" publication by Jane Austen.

"Death Comes to Pemberley" is based on a 2011 novel by P.D. James that takes the characters of "Pride and Prejudice" -- most notably Elizabeth Bennet, Fitzwilliam Darcy and George Wickham -- and puts them in a murder-mystery story six years after the events of the original novel.  The story begins when the now-married Elizabeth and Darcy ready themselves for their annual ball. When Elizabeth's sister, Lydia -- along with her husband, Wickham -- arrives, everything comes to a shocking stop. As a murder investigation unfolds, it threatens everything and everyone at Pemberley.
