Few children's entertainers can hold a candle to Fred Rogers. The creator and star of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood has been a force in children's television since1968, when the educational program premiered, and still has an impact even beyond its cancellation, still available in syndication on PBS in some areas. While Rogers sadly died in 2003, he remains a figure of inspiration and joy on the internet where he and his lessons have found a second life with fans posting inspirational quotes, and creating memes as well as wide-ranging fan art. So, basically, it's about time he got a biopic. Deadline reports Treehouse Pictures has bought a Fred Rogers biopic spec script named for a lyric from his show's memorable opening theme: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.
