After NBA player Jason Collins penned an editorial for Sports Illustrated Monday (April 29) coming out as gay, making him the first professional athlete in American team sports to do so, it wasn't long before another athlete, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace, posted a less than supportive message on Twitter.

Wallace sent out a tweet Monday morning, reading, "All these beautiful women in the world and guys wanna mess with other guys Smh," USA Today reports. Smh is an acronym for "shaking my head." That tweet was followed by another that said, "I'm not bashing anybody don't have anything against anyone I just don't understand it." A half hour later, Wallace deleted the messages before trying to explain it. "Never said anything was right or wrong I just said I don't understand!!
