This is probably the worst news I have heard all week.

After decent turns with The Mummy and then The Mummy Returns, I was pleased that the producers had chosen to let the franchise slide quietly under the rug of development hell along with Arnold Vosloo’s character. I had, to be honest, already begun to tire of Brendan “Indiana” Fraser and Rachel Weisz at the end of 2 so imagine my absolute horror that I discover that there was a Third film scheduled for release in 2009. What got my goat was that people actually got excited and hyped by it…
