Cumberbatch gets animated, lays waste to London in new Star Trek Into Darkness poster

The latest promos for J.J. Abrams's Star Trek Into Darkness have landed and like the teaser that came before, they're putting Benedict Cumberbatch's Star Fleet terrorist John Harrison front and centre. The busy Brit is pictured all but strutting away from a devastated, still-burning London beneath the threat that "Earth will fall" in the latest two posters for the sci-fi May release.

It may seem odd for Abrams to rely so heavily on the one unknown factor in the upcoming film when fans are so familiar with the other characters, but can you really blame him? Between Harrison's not-so-latent threats, his claims to be better than everyone at everything and his self-assured, sexy villainous swagger, Star Trek's latest antagonist has the potential (especially with the "Sherlock" star at the helm) to set the big bad bar higher than ever before.
