'Those Who Kill' officially picked up at A&E; 'Game of Thrones' ratings stay strong

A&E has formally picked up the drama series "Those Who Kill," starring Chloe Sevigny ("Big Love") as a young detective who hunts serial killers.

The formal announcement comes a week after news of the series order leaked. A&E president Bob Dibetetto stresses that the show is not a crime procedural but rather a "deep serialized character portrait of two compelling yet damaged individuals coming together through the revelation of their dark past." James D'Arcy ("Hitchcock") stars opposite Sevigny as a forensic psychiatrist who helps her character in her investigations.

Glen Morgan ("The X-Files") wrote the pilot, which is based on a Danish series, and will serve as showrunner for the series. It's set to begin filming in the fall and premiere next year.
