Star Trek: The Game has been given a new trailer starring the original Captain Kirk, William Shatner.

Shatner relives his iconic fight against the Gorn from the 1967 Star Trek episode 'Arena', as the two foes squabble over the video game's co-operative multiplayer.

The Gorn will play a large role in Star Trek: The Game, given a new look to match the visual style of the Jj Abrams movie reboot.

The video game is set as a prequel to the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness film but will tell an original story written by BAFTA-winning scribe Marianne Krawczyk.

It will be developed by Digital Extremes, the studio behind The Darkness 2, Dark Sector and BioShock 2's multiplayer.

It was recently revealed that Star Trek Into Darkness tickets would be available free with pre-orders of the game.

Star Trek: The Game will release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on April »
