We don’t watch a lot of Asian movies here on BeyondHollywood.com, because reading subtitles is hard, but we recently stumbled across a Japanese movie called “Battle Royale”, which was such a blatant rip-off of “The Hunger Games” that it infuriated me. Now, with the second movie, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” on its way this November, I think it’s time we expose this copycat. After watching “Battle Royale” (which was directed by Kinji Fukasaku, who must be some kid who thinks he can get away with duplicating one of the best movies of 2011) and “The Hunger Games” back to back, here are five ways that “Battle Royale” totally rips off “The Hunger Games”. I mean, come on, they aren’t even trying! It’s that obvious! »
