After an unnecessary year long delay the new sequel of the rebooted G.I. Joe franchise, G.I. Joe: Retaliation has finally dawned. And frankly, it makes up for many of shortcomings of the first outing while showing respect to the source material and being a downright enjoyable popcorn action flick in its own right. The first movie came off as a desperate gasp from a studio desperate to cash in on the nostalgia of those now in their late twenties and early thirties without actually providing anything that remotely resembled what they knew and loved; whereas the latest iteration actually does it right while introducing itself to a new generation.
