There was a time when I was sure the idea of a Zombieland TV series was never going to gestate beyond a hope and a prayer, what with the history leading up to the making of the 2009 Columbia Pictures film. Originally, Zombieland was developed as a TV show, but that was before The Walking Dead made the undead an acceptable subject matter for television. Things didn’t go quite the way writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wenick had hoped and their original idea was reformed into a movie – and a great movie at that. Today I stand before you to tell you the Zombieland TV show is not dead; in fact it has a pilot order from Amazon Studios.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the original creative team, which includes Reese, Wernick and producer Gavin Palone – with Eli Craig directing – were given the greenlight to put together a Zombieland pilot »
