When Matthew Vaughn walked away from the upcoming X-Men: First Class sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past, many people thought he was being lined up to direct Disney's Star Wars: Episode VII. However, with that task falling to Star Trek Into Darkness helmer J.J. Abrams, Vaughn has instead opted for another comic book adaptation with Deadline reporting that he's set to reunite with Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) to bring Millar and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) The Secret Service to the screen for 20th Century Fox.

According to Deadline, Vaughn and his regular writing partner Jane Goldman (Stardust, Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) have recently completed the screenplay for The Secret Service and he will finance and produce the adaptation through his Marv Films production company.
