It’s become common for major Hollywood movies to experience very long release-date delays. Sometimes, the filmmakers need more time to stuff the film with totally essential digital effects. Sometimes they need to convert the film into 3-D — for purely artistic reasons, of course. And sometimes, they just need to resurrect Channing Tatum. It’s rare, however, for a film to move in the other direction, and open earlier than planned. But that’s exactly what happened with The World's End, the long-awaited third film from Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg which completes a loose trilogy with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. »
