Just recently, writing team John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (who have The Incredible Burt Wonderstone in theaters now) sat down with us for an interview about their approach to writing/directing the comedy franchise reboot of Vacation, the film series that originated with National Lampoon and followed Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo taking their family on vacations full of mishaps. In case you hadn't heard, Ed Helms is leading the film as the Griswold son Rusty, now all grown up with a family of his own, as he embarks on a trip with his family and now THR reports Christina Applegate will play his wife. Applegate's character is said to be strong-willed and might be losing interest in Rusty for one reason or another, but that's all we know about the film for now.
