Sony Pictures recently confirmed that "Beasts of the Southern Wild" star Quvenzhane Wallis, who received an Oscar nomination for her performance, has been cast as the title character in "Annie," which is being produced by Will Smith and Jay-z. Based on a daily comic strip that debuted in 1924, "Little Orphan Annie" told the story of a little girl who, after escaping from an orphanage, is taken in by the rich Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks. NY Post has learned that the studio is in talks with Justin Timberlake to play the role of Daddy Warbucks. "Annie" will be directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends With Benefits) and released around Christmas of 2014. »
