I think sports games get a harder time than they should do. People seem to pass the off as something that are churned out yearly to make a quick buck, but that actually disregards the work and creativity these titles bring. A new year brings new features and further refines already exiting systems, lot of the times, dramatically. I remember the jump from FIFA 11 and 12 being a tough re-configuring with the inclusion of a new defensive system. But that had a purpose.

See, in my experience, those who complain about sports games often don’t follow said sports incredibly closely and they disregard the fact that sport itself is constantly changing. Often, emphasis will change on tactics, positions and practices from season to season. In football, some seasons star players will be the apple of fans eyes, some seasons it may be incredible attacking play and others it may be a resurgence of defensive romanticism. »
