The Empire Awards are always a fun time of year for film, and are so much more relaxed than those other big awards ceremonies that start in December and go on until the middle of February. What’s more, these awards are 100% voted for by members of the movie-going public, and take place in front of an A-list crowd in a London hotel on a Sunday afternoon in March. As part of the awards, as has been the case for a few years now, Empire also feature the ‘Done In 60 Seconds’ awards where amateur filmmakers can submit short films, remakes of popular features, no longer than sixty seconds in length, to a panel of judges made up of some huge Hollywood names, this year including Thn favourite Tom Hiddleston, among others.
