This is why I love social media. One of the best examples of a great use of social media for hype, reference, story-building, and just general cinematic awesomeness. Thanks to a tip from our good friends at SlashFilm, we found out that over this past weekend, The Wolverine director James Mangold posted a series of 10 photos on his twitter feed to highlight, as he describes, "images from films that inspired / influenced The Wolverine." His photos are actually a fantastic set of 10 great films, and it's cool to see them listed together for a sense of the tone and style he's going for. As he states: "Name the movies. Even better, go see them." Here's the full set of 10 tweets in order from #1-10 as @Mangold posted them. Do you know all the films? .twitter-tweet {width:500px!important;} I'm posting images from films that inspired / influenced The Wolverine. Name the movies. »
