Jamie Lee Curtis has panned Seth MacFarlane's Academy Awards hosting stint.

Curtis penned an op-ed for The Huffington Post in which she wrote that she has "waited" for a week to share her thoughts on the Oscars, but couldn't bite her tongue any longer

"I knew who Seth MacFarlane was. My teenage son is a big fan. I knew what to expect," the Freaky Friday actress declared. "I have been the butt of his humour. I have survived his cruel, cheap jokes."

She continued: "I was offended last week. As an Academy member, as the child of former Academy members and as a woman, I expected more from the best that the movie business has to offer. The Oscars are about honouring art and artists. It is not supposed to be a cheesy vaudeville show."

Curtis went on to particularly criticise a musical number led by MacFarlane about actresses »
