It can't have been easy for Warner Bros. and their subsidiary DC Entertainment to sit and watch Marvel release The Avengers to huge box office success last year while Christopher Nolan was simultaneously closing the doors on his massively successful Batman trilogy with The Dark Knight Rises. While The Avengers is clearly open to have more sequels, Nolan never tried to expand his movies' scope to DC's other characters. In response to the success of The Avengers, Warners did hire Gangster Squad screenwriter Will Beall to script a Justice League movie, which would potentially team Batman with other legendary DC characters such as Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman, however, the movie is already rumored to be slated for a complete overhaul, with the safe money betting that the studio will wait and see if Superman's next outing, Man of Steel, will provide the box office boost necessary to move »
