The upcoming series will be based on the March 5 "Citadel" Dlc for "Mass Effect 3," Dark Horse announced this weekend during the Emerald City Comic-Con.

"Mass Effect 2" and "3" lead writer Mac Walters will be handling story chores starting in July with Omar Francia handling art. Walters has written four other miniseries set in the "Mass Effect" universe (the four-issue "Homeworlds" was the most recent), so at this point, he's an old hand at bringing the games into comics.

In the release, Dark Horse wouldn't provide any details about the story, or how it will tie into the Citadel Dlc, but in an interview with Comic Book Resources, Walters said that "Foundation" would elaborate on some stories hinted at throughout the games:
