Well, Emma Watson is pretty used to magical situations, so I guess this wouldn’t be much of a stretch for her. If she signs on, the former “Harry Potter” kid wizard will be joining Cate Blanchett in the Disney live-action take on the classic story. Blanchett is already scheduled to play the wicked step mother, while Watson, of course, will be playing Cinderella. Originally attached to be directed by Mark Romanek (“Never Let Me Go”), “Cinderella” will now be directed by Kenneth Branagh, currently putting the finishing touches on Paramount’s “Jack Ryan” reboot with Chris Pine. Simon Kinberg will produce. Chris Weitz wrote the script. Watson is in talks for the gig after the studio considered other lovely gals for the part, including Brits Gabriella Wilde (“The Three Musketeers” and the upcoming “Carrie”) and Imogen Poots (“Fright Night”) and Swede Alicia Vikander (“Anna Karenina”).
