"Kick-Ass 2" is still scheduled to kick some ass this summer — just a bit later than we were hoping for.

Universal has moved the release date for the comic book movie sequel from its original June 28 spot to August 16. That means "Kick-Ass 2" will close out Universal's summer slate, which sounds like a hell of a way to end the summer months to us!

Universal has also shifted the release date of "2 Guns," the adaptation of the Boom Studios comic book starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, to August 2, where it'll compete with "300: Rise of an Empire" and "Red 2." It'll be a big weekend for comic book movies.

On top of that, the studio plans to release "R.I.P.D." in 3-D, sticking to its original release date of July 19.
