Director Shawn Levy (Night at the MuseumReal Steel) was set to helm a new version of Frankenstein for Fox early in 2012, but Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin) took over and we haven’t heard much since last September. It appears that the movie is alive and well, however, with the news that Daniel Radcliffe is interested in starring in the film.

Variety reports that Radcliffe is in final negotiations to star in the movie as Igor. That may sound a little bit odd at first, but the movie is based on a script from Max Landis (Chronicle) that puts the focus on Frankenstein’s assistant.

The movie is expected to put a new spin on the Frankenstein story, as opposed to directly following the book, and we previously learned that that the story will be more of a sci-fi take on the material. The deal with Daniel Radcliffe is not 100% sealed, »
