With Harry Osborn (“Chronicle’s’ Dane DeHaan) already cast in Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″, it was inevitable that Norman Osborn, father of Harry, would be joining him. “American Beauty’s” Chris Cooper has now officially joined the cast of comic book sequel, and is set to play Norman Osborn, the industrialist who Peter Parker befriends. In the comics, Osborn eventually turns psycho and becomes a regular Spidey villain named The Green Goblin. Willem Dafoe played the character in the first “Spider-Man” movie directed by Sam Raimi (with James Franco as his son, Harry). With Electro (Jamie Foxx) and The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) already scheduled to battle Spidey in the sequel, it’s unlikely Osborn Sr. will be going baddie during his introduction in the upcoming movie.
