AMC's 1980s-set pilot "Halt & Catch Fire" has tapped Lee Pace as its lead.
The "Pushing Daisies" star will play a computer visionary in the pilot, which is about the PC revolution of the 1980s. His character is a former top salesman at Ibm who joins a Dallas tech firm. Mackenzie Davis ("Smashed") will also star as a gifted young programmer.
If it's picked up, "Halt & Catch Fire" will be the first series role for Pace since "Pushing Daisies" ended in 2009. His recent movie credits include "Lincoln" and "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"; he'll be in the next two "Hobbit" films as well.
More pilot casting:
- Alicia Silverstone will star in Lifetime's pilot "Hr," which has been in development for almost a year. Silverstone plays the head of human resources at a big company who changes her outlook on life and work after suffering a head injury. [Deadline]
