“Heart-warming” is hardly the first word that comes to mind when I think about “Hotline Miami,” but it’s always nice when mind-bogglingly violent indie games about a killer-for-hire in a pig mask do well. Everyone likes an underdog.

Cactus Söderström’s top-down beat-’em-up sold well enough to warrant a Mac port and a sequel, despite having “been pirated to extraordinary levels,” according to project manager Graeme Struthers. Last week, Dennaton Games and publishers Devolver Digital announced more good news: “Hotline Miami” is coming to the PlayStation 3 and Vita.

In a post on the official PlayStation blog, Devolver explained that Dutch outfit Abstraction Games “are crafting an absolutely perfect version of ‘Hotline Miami’ for both PlayStation 3 and Ps Vita and are taking great care to take advantage of both systems’ nifty features.” While a release date hasn’t been announced, comments from Devolver suggest that the »
