Ghost House Pictures, the joint venture between Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Mandates Nathan Kahane, has picked up rights to The Sitter, a novel from horror writer R.L. Stine, for an adaptation to be titled The Au Pair, reports Heat Vision. Ghost House has tapped Dana Stevens, who worked with Raimi on 1999's For Love of the Game, to pen the adaptation. Au Pair, which is a working title, follows a young woman who runs from a troubled relationship by spending a fun-filled, romantic summer as a nanny in a posh Hamptons beach house. This dream job takes a frightening turn when she uncovers a dark secret that haunts her and the kids she's sworn to protect. The book was published in July 2003. »
