Marvel's First Family is getting some support from a "First Class" filmmaker.

Matthew Vaughn, who helmed "X-Men: First Class" and will produce "X-Men: Days of Future Past" for Fox, has joined the studio's "Fantastic Four" reboot as a producer. Fox's Marvel consultant Mark Millar confirmed the news on Twitter.

Just off the phone with Fox and some excellent news - Matthew Vaughn is producing Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot!

No other details are known, beyond Vaughn signing on to produce the superhero movie, directed by "Chronicle" helmer Josh Trank.

It's the latest in a series of moves seemingly aimed at bringing cohesion to Fox's Marvel properties. Most attention has been paid to the X-Universe, with films like "The Wolverine" and "Days of Future Past" in place to usher in a new age of "X-Men" movies. Is it possible that the Vaughn-produced "Fantastic Four" will fit into that universe as well? »
