Mark Hamill has discussed the possibility of returning to the Star Wars universe.

Following the announcement that Disney and Lucasfilm would make a third trilogy of films, Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford all confirmed that they would consider reprising their roles as Luke, Leia and Han.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hamill confirmed that he has been approached by Lucas and his producers.

"They're talking to us," Hamill said. "George wanted to know whether we'd be interested. He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts - they would write us out."

Confirming that no contracts have been signed, Hamill added: "We're in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with Michael Arndt, who is the writer, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is going to run Lucasfilm. Both have had meetings set that were postponed - on their end, »
