Superman Returns director Bryan Singer has opened up about seeing another filmmaker tackle the DC Comics property.

The star admitted that he is excited about the upcoming Man of Steel and lavished praise on director Zack Snyder.

"[I'm] very excited to see it. I love the trailer, and I think Zack Snyder is incredibly talented," he told Moviefone.

"It would have been strange for me if this was a few years ago; it would have been a little weird. But now there's so much distance from that world that I'm actually pumped to see it, genuinely. So I'm just looking forward to it."

Singer is currently working within the superhero genre, taking up the director's chair on Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past, which brings together cast members from the original X-Men trilogy and prequel X-Men: First Class.

Man of Steel, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Russell Crowe, will debut »
