Oscar worlds collide as Jennifer Lawrence reteams with "Silver Linings Playbook" director David O. Russell for "The Ends of the Earth," a fact-based original penned by Oscar-nominated "Argo" screenwriter Chris Terrio. It's an American epic--with a "Django"-scale TWC budget-- centering on Ernest Marland, an oil tycoon who loses everything when caught in a scandalous affair (like General Petraeus?). The Weinstein Company has finalized worldwide rights to the film. Todd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal of Escape Artists are set to produce. Russell stated of his experience working with Lawrence on "Silver Linings": "[She] possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease.
