Just like Jason Bourne and the new forthcoming Jack Ryan, it sounds like Warner Bros. wants to get into the thriller franchise game with their own book-based character. Deadline has word that Justin Lin (of the Fast and Furious franchise) is attached to direct an adaptation of an upcoming thriller novel from Patrick Lee, author of books like The Breach, Ghost Country and Deep Sky. The new book is part of a three book deal, the first of which will be published next winter and marks the introduction of recurring character Sam Dryden, an ex-special operative who gets caught up in government espionage and intrigue. The first untitled installment follows Dryden as he runs into a mysterious young girl who is not quite what she seems, and must embark on a journey to keep her safe from a powerful government agent intent on hunting her down.
