Three months away from the arrival of Star Trek Into Darkness in cinemas, and with its villain's identity not yet confirmed, a new motion poster has been unveiled.

It shows Benedict Cumberbatch surveying a ruined London, with the actor giving an accompanying voiceover about revenge.

While many speculate Cumberbatch is playing a new version of Ricardo Montalban's classic Khan, this was denied by Alice Eve, who appears in the film as Dr Carol Marcus.

Eve told Baftas Online reporter Zoe Ball: "He's not playing Khan."

She added: "We had a wonderful time making Star Trek, we made it last year in La and it was an amazing experience working with Jj Abrams who's now taken on Star Wars and become the ultimate geek hero. It's incredible, he's the reigning king.
