Even if you think you know that Argo will win Best Picture and that Daniel Day-Lewis will win Best Actor at this Sunday's Oscars, there are still plenty of categories with room for surprise-- and maybe none more so than the two screenplay categories. With Argo and fellow Best Picture frontrunner Lincoln both duking it out in Best Adapted Screenplay, and Zero Dark Thirty up against the similarly strong Amour and Beasts of the Southern Wild, it's anyone's guess how things might shake out on Sunday-- though the Writer's Guild may now have given us a few strong clues. Handing out their annual WGA awards last night, the writers rewarded Zero Dark Thirty for the Best Original Screenplay prize, and in a small surprise, Argo for Best Adapted.
