A new Die Hard film is in cinemas and the cold logic of capitalism dictates that the previous films must be re-released. I’ve not seen A Good Day to Die Hard yet but I am looking forward to it. It’s interesting that Bruce Willis’s latest adventure as John McClane is being released shortly after those other icons of action cinema, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, have had new films out – Bullet to the Head and The Last Stand respectively. The Expendable bandwagon keeps on rolling.

Quality aside, A Good Day to Die Hard is inevitably going to better business than either of those films. Obviously it helps that it’s part of a franchise – though the previous film, Live Free or Die Hard brought in more readies than Rambo 4 and did similar business to Terminator 3 on about half the budget.
