Shohreh Aghdashloo is the beautiful Iranian American actress who I fell in love with in House of Sand and Fog and The Stoning of Soraya M. Now the actress is all set to shake things up on the set of NBC’s Grimm. This isn’t a guest spot.

That’s right, Aghdashloo has signed on for a recurring role on the supernatural series. When it comes to casting royalty, I’d say the execs did a mighty fine job.

TV Line reported that Aghdashloo would play Stefania Vaduva Popescu. Now that’s a mouthful. Stefania is a very powerful lady and Claire Coffee’s Adalind will be turning to Stefania in a time of need for an alliance of sorts. Stefania is known as the “Zigeunersprache,” or, in other words, words I understand, the Queen of the Schwarzwald Gypsies, who hail from the rich woods of Austria. Interesting, no? »
