David Fincher has been planning to direct a remake of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." Disney is fully committed to the film and is making a deal with Australia to begin shooting there. The goal has been to go into production this summer, but that's not going to happen. Brad Pitt was initially attached to star in the film, but eventually dropped out. Fincher is now looking for his replacement and is considering a number of actors, including Channing Tatum. Unfortunately, none of them are available until next year. Fincher will likely put "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" on hold and will instead make "Gone Girl" or "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" sequel. The big question, however, is whether he'll still be interested in the project when he becomes available again. »
