As expected, director Bryan Singer has been giving a little more insight into X-Men: Days of Future Past during press interviews for his next release, Jack The Giant Slayer.

But first Singer revealed on Twitter that Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage (above) has been cast in the film, with Variety adding that sources say he will play the main villain.

The role hasn't been revealed and fans have been speculating as to exactly which character it could be.

Singer told HitFix: "This movie's gonna be not only quite epic but it also takes place in completely different times than the other X Men movies.

"There'll be new technology, new things we haven't seen before in X-Men films, certain characters and story and drama that hasn't be done yet, so it's not so much a sequel, it's more of its own thing."
