Thomas Kretschmann will be switching cloaks for Dracula. He’s played the Count himself, in Dario Argento’s Dracula 3D, but now will play the opposite side of the coin: Van Helsing! Kretschmann should be familiar to many, as he’s had a varied film and TV career, with roles in U-571, Blade II, The Pianist, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, The River, King Kong, and a ton more.

Abraham Van Helsing is described as “…not the classic hero featured in so many retellings. Here, he’s a brilliant professor with a cool exterior who is obsessed with revenge and makes him more of a threat to the public than to Dracula.“

Thomas Kretschmann joins a cast that includes Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jessica De Guow, and Oliver Jackson-Cohen in the NBC series set in the 1800′s. »
