One of the ‘Big Questions Facing Movie Geeks’ in 2013 concerns Marvel’s ability to build on the runaway success of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers. Impending Iron Man and Thor standalone movie sequels will provide a partial answer later this year, but the issue won’t be completely addressed until final results from Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D. television series are in – beginning with, whether or not ABC elects to acquire the pilot to series.

Network president Paul Lee remains publicly hopeful about S.H.I.E.L.D. going to series, but a final decision has yet to be made. In the meantime, though, we can confirm that production has indeed wrapped on the pilot episode, some 3-4 weeks after principal photography began (and the show’s social media campaign was launched).
