Equipped with the suitably sad sack, low-life voice of John C Reilly, Wreck-It Ralph is the clumsy hero of this graphically lively, narratively confused and wildly overlong Disney animated feature. Determined to get out of the role of perennial bad guy in a 30-year-old video game, Ralph escapes into other sideshows in an old-fashioned amusement arcade, looking for a heroic role that will bring him a medal. Much influenced by Who Framed Roger Rabbit, it's the feature debut of a long-time director on The Simpsons and is executive-produced by John Lasseter, director of Toy Story, whose remit at Disney includes Pixar movies.
