New York City’s Mayor’s office announced this afternoon that film permits for Saturday, Feb. 9 have been suspended due to severe weather –  specifically, winter storm Nemo, which is expected to leave the city blanketed in 10 to 14 inches of snow.

Other areas of the city’s entertainment industry have not been affected by the storm, at least as of yet. Though the Broadway League issued a weather alert at 2 p.m. Et, it also said that Broadway shows are still expected to play as scheduled tonight and Saturday. Dozens of people are currently lined up outside of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, waiting in makeshift tents and sleeping bags for a chance to get tickets for this weekend’s Justin Bieber-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, which will tape as scheduled tomorrow. And New York’s Fashion Week is also continuing as planned, though its organizers told the Associated Press that they’ll be bringing in extra crews to assist with snow removal and increasing the heat in their venues. »
