According to The Sun, Frank Lampard is still awaiting an approach from Chelsea regarding a new deal despite having just months left on his current contract.

The Chelsea and England midfielder, who is now 34, has been the subject of near constant speculation regarding a new deal and though teammate Ashley Cole has extended his contract at Chelsea by a year (source: BBC Sport), Lampard continues to wait.

Lampard’s agent, Steve Kutner, has denied claims that the two parties have held talks regarding a new deal:

“Nothing has changed regarding Frank’s situation at Chelsea.”

Chelsea’s number eight is now able to negotiate a deal with other clubs, and if Lampard does accept a deal with another club the transfer with be completed on July 1st 2013.
