According to reports, Marvel Studios have cast their lead to play the character 'Peter Quill' aka 'Star-Lord', in Disney's upcoming Marvel Studios, 3D sci fi comic book adaptation "Guardians Of The Galaxy", with filming expected to start spring 2013 at Shepperton Studios in the UK.

Actor Chris Pratt will play Star-Lord in the new film based on Marvel Comics "Guardians of the Galaxy" (vol. 2) #1 (May 2008), created by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, that adapted the first "Guardians of The Galaxy" concept by writer Arnold Drake and illustrator Gene Colan (1969), with Star-Lord leading a team that includes 'Drax the Destroyer', 'Gamora', 'Groot' and 'Rocket Raccoon' :

"...in the aftermath of the 'Phalanx' invasion of the 'Kree', 'Star-Lord' decides to form a team of interstellar heroes that will be proactive in protecting the galaxy, rather than reacting to crises as they happen. To this end, he recruits 'Drax the Destroyer', 'Gamora', 'Rocket Raccoon' and 'Groot. »
