While J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness released a new TV spot earlier today during the Super Bowl, users who have downloaded the Star Trek app were granted a bit of a surprise.  The sequel to 2009's Star Trek will now open two days earlier on Wednesday May 15th, starting at 8:00Pm.  Tickets to the early screening can be purchased now through the Fandango link embedded within the free app.  The newly released bit of Star Trek marketing is a worthy addition to the smartphone of a casual fan or a die-hard Trekkie/Trekker; check out my review of the app here to find out more.  If you want to read up on more details of the early release of Star Trek Into Darkness, hit the jump.
