Valiant Entertainment will develop its Harbinger film with an eye on Brett Ratner to helm the project.

The publisher has brought Stephen Susco back on board to work on the script after the previous setup for the film at Paramount Pictures collapsed, reports Variety.

Susco and Ratner will collaborate on the script. They were both previously attached to the movie in its former incarnation.

Valiant will finance the project itself after a rights issue regarding Paramount's Watchmen lawsuit with Fox/WB stalled the studio's development.

The recently revived Valiant Comics series centres around a rogue group of psychics who set out to bring down a powerful organisation.

Created by Jim Shooter, the Harbinger ongoing series is currently written by Joshua Dysart. »
