One of the most fascinating things about Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class is its setting. While all of the previous movies in the franchise have taken place in modern day, the "prequel" brought audiences back to a time the Kennedy presidency and Cold War paranoia, highlighted by and end sequence that served as an awesome riff on the real life Cuban Missile Crisis. But while we've heard all kinds of details about the upcoming sequel, Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past, including the fact that Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore and Ellen Page will all be reprising their roles from the original trilogy, one detail that has evaded us has been the year that the bulk of the story would be taking place.
